So Pogoplug has had a rough year, but it seems that things have calmed down a bit and the personal cloud aspect of it still works.
I've just come across a really old unit that hasn't been connected in a long time. It lets me register to my account and works, but it's version of the Pogoplug software is really old compared to the final version. I can see it's pinging upgrade.pogoplug.com regularly, but as that website is down it can't update.
Obviously as PP support is none existent, I can't ask them to kick the server (in the hope it's hung rather than been removed!)
I still find the personal cloud bit quite useful. The hardware is getting long in the tooth, but it still works and requires no babysitting (which is a very nice thing to have when you troubleshoot all day at work!) - the only issue is the security risk.
I know there is a package available for Arch with the latest pp software, I'm tempted to see how compatible it is when using optware and if it can be made to work.

I apologize for the amateur question, but I'm really looking forward to using this on a Buffalo Linkstation LS-VL NAS with Optware, however I'm having an issue with the install. The NAS comes with a preloaded webserver, lighttpd I believe. PHP Version 5.2.10-pl0-gentoo with fastcgi enabled. I've followed the installation, but navigating to http://192.168.1.111:81/bbs results in the below error. I believe this may have something to do with the way the webserver was preinstalled, but I'm not sure where to look. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated! Warning: require_once(DIR/composer/autoload_real.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /www/htdocs/bbs/vendor/autoload.php on line 5 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'DIR/composer/autoload_real.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php5:/usr/share/php') in /www/htdocs/bbs/vendor/autoload.php on line 5 |

There is the wiki page about Web Servers, that lists configurations for different web servers, including lighttpd. Did you try that already? If that isn't the problem then we might have run into this composer issue that is apparently related to PHP 5.2. |

Yes, the LS-VL comes with apache 1.3 prebuilt on port 80 but I'm not able to change it since it hosts the Admin CPanel. My guess I need either apache2, which might break the NAS setup, or update php5 to 5.3 which I don't have an ipkg for :( Still trying! |

Could you try to install the slightly older 1.0 version? See http://projekte.textmulch.de/bicbucstriim/downloads/BicBucStriim-1.0.0.zip |

Got the same error using v1.0: Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'DIR/composer/autoload_real.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php5:/usr/share/php') in /www/htdocs/bbs/vendor/autoload.php on line 5 |

However, BBS 0.93 gives me the error: Warning: Unexpected character in input: ' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /www/htdocs/bbs/vendor/autoload.php on line 13 Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /www/htdocs/bbs/vendor/autoload.php on line 13 |

Could this have something to do with my usr/share/php5 folder being empty? I have a usr/lib/php5 folder with some contents. I already tried copying it to /usr/share/php5 with no luck. |

No, I don't think so. Apparently PHP 5.2 and Composer have a lot of problems and nobody noticed before. Probaby most people are already on 5.4. PS: with the next version, 1.2, BBS will officially migrate to PHP 5.3 due to some other dependency. |

And your 5.2 version works! Well, sort of. I have the Admin page but can't get anywhere else. Most likely a permissions issue on my end. Anyway, I truly appreciate you taking your time to help! Now I need to figure out how to update my PHP for your next release :) |

Oh, thank you fo testing, good to hear that it works. Calling ../installcheck.php might help to figure out the other problems. |

Had to do chmod -R ga+w data per your instructions (forgot that bit). I need to configure the Calibre database as well, but I won't be able to until tonight. If you wanted me to test anything additional while I can, I would be more than willing. Otherwise I think you solved the issue (for now)! Thanks!! |
