Sep 13, 2017  Airport Extreme is the only base station which works for Airport Express and it is not recognized by those routers, so due to this Apple Airport Utility for Windows 10 cannot be used. You can connect to many Hardware Equipment of Music, Video, and also many other devices through the Apple Airport Express. To set up and configure your AirPort Express for wireless networking and Internet access, use the AirPort Setup Assistant for Mac OS X, or the AirPort Express Assistant for Windows XP. (The assistant is installed on your computer when you install the software on the AirPort Express CD. You can also download it from Apple.). Here's how to set up Apple's Airport Express, a base station that lets you share devices like speakers or printers with other computers, wirelessly.

How To Connect Airport Express

You can configure the AirPort Express base station in your office as an access point via wireless bridging. In bridge mode, the base station connects to a router and acts as a dynamic host configuration protocol and network address translation server, extending the range of the existing network to other devices in the building. Connect the Apple AirPort Express base station to another network via the AirPort Utility.

Select the AirPort Express from the left pane, and then click 'Internet.'

Click the 'Wireless' tab, and then choose 'Join a Wireless Network' from the 'Wireless Mode' drop-down menu.

Enter the name of the network to join into the Wireless Network Name field.

Tip

  • To access the AirPort Express base station from Windows, install the device software to the computer. Click 'Start,' 'All Programs,' and then 'AirPort Utility' following installation.

Install

You can set up a new base station using AirPort Utility on your Mac or AirPort Utility for iOS on your iOS device. See About AirPort Utility for iOS.

Physically connect the base station to your modem

  1. Connect the power cord to the Power port on your base station, then plug the power cord into a wall outlet.

  2. Connect an Ethernet cable to the WAN port on your base station, then plug it into your DSL or cable modem.

    Note: If you don’t use a modem, or connect in a different way, get connection instructions from your ISP.

Set up the base station using your Mac

  1. On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, then choose the base station listed under New AirPort Base Station.

  2. Follow the onscreen instructions.

    AirPort Utility Setup Assistant automatically provides the best solution for your network. If no network is found, the setup assistant creates a new network; if a network is already set up, the setup assistant extends the existing network (see Extend an existing Wi-Fi network).

    If you want to set up your network using different settings, click Other Options.

Set up the base station using your iOS device

  1. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then tap the name of your base station (for example, “AirPort Extreme 0affff”) listed under “Set up new AirPort base station.”

  2. Follow the onscreen instructions.

    AirPort Utility for iOS Setup Assistant automatically provides the best solution for your network. If no network is found, the setup assistant creates a new network; if a network is already set up, the setup assistant extends the existing network (see Extend an existing Wi-Fi network).

    If you want to set up your network using different settings, tap Other Options.
